Tender description

The recycling and composting framework will deal with a range of wastes and recyclates collected by waste management. The framework comprises of, amongst others waste streams including garden waste from both the kerbside and HWSSs (Household Waste Sorting Sites) and residual waste from the HWSS. LCC domestic kerbside refuse collections & LCC household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC’s). The acceptable material list advertised to service users includes the following for the collections of green waste from both sources:- 1) Grass cuttings 2) Hedge clippings 3) Leaves 4) Dead house and bedding plants 5) Windfall fruit 6) Weeds 7) Twigs and small branches (not more than 3 cm thick) LCC domestic kerbside refuse collections - Bulky household materials LCC household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC’s) - Mixed residual wastes of a non hazardous nature LCC Dry waste Trade collection service - Mixed commercial wastes of a non hazardous nature LCC Cleaner Neighbourhoods Team - Fly-tipped materials and litter bin wastes LCC household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC’s) - Timber and wood based material. Below is a list of the materials that the Council collect:- 1) Hardwood/ Softwood Products 2) Fencing Panels 3) Tree Trunks 4) Old Floor Boards 5) Wooden Doors 6) Wooden Crates and Pallets 7) Joists and Rafters 8) Clean Demolition Wood 9) Plywood 10) Chipboard 11) Hardwood 12) MDF 13) Laminate Flooring LCC household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC’s) - Inert soil, rubble and hardcore. This is primarily made up of soils, rubble and hardcore materials arising from domestic garden projects for example, occasionally it will include concrete and rebar. LCC household Waste Sort Sites (HWRC’s) - Plasterboard and gypsum products. This Lot consists of the plasterboard and other gypsum based products collected at the HWRC’s in Leeds e.g. plaster mouldings and bagged plaster. LCC household Waste Sort Sites (HWRC’s) - Tyres The Council currently accepts a range of tyres at our HWRC’s and transfer stations segregated in the following forms:- 1) Car tyres on rims 2) Car tyres off rims 3) Commercial and plant tyres on rims 4) Commercial and plant tyres off rims.
