Tender description

1.1.1 The Conditions of Contract relates to the operation and management of Sligo County Council’s Civic Amenity Site (CAS) in Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo. The purpose of the contract is to provide Sligo County Council with a complete Civic Amenity Waste Management Service to serve the general public, incorporating recovery, recycling, disposal and public liaison in accordance with all current and future environmental legislation and EPA requirements. 1.1.2 The contract for the operation of the CAS will be based on the requirements outlined in the current Waste Management Legislation and the requirements of the EPA’s Certificates of Registration. If after the date of the signing of the contract, there is new or amending Waste Management Legislation and/or Waste Framework Directive Legislation or a change to the EPA’s Certificate of Registration requirements introduced within the period of the service contract which will have a material effect on the operation of the sites; Sligo County Council or the successful Tenderer may seek a review of the contract. 1.1.3 The CAS will be accessible by the public and is designed to take the waste streams outlined in Table 1 of this Tender Document. The relevant waste streams outlined in Table 1 are contained within the Certificates of Registration for the CAS. The location of the CAS is outlined on Appendix A 1.1.5 No material change in the type of waste accepted or the type of activities undertaken as part of this service contract may take place without the prior consent of Sligo County Council. Only materials outlined in Table 1 shall be accepted at these Centres. 1.1.6 The successful Tenderer will accept recyclable materials from commercial operators. This will be subject to the prior approval of Sligo County Council and this approval will only be forth coming where no contravention of the Certificates of Registration issued by the EPA will occur.
