Hampshire County Council are currently exploring options for the provision of two Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualification courses for social workers in its employ over the next 2 years. The courses must be approved by the Health and Care Professions Council. The 2 AMHP courses will be for up to 12 students beginning in November 2019 and up to 12 students beginning in November 2020 and must be delivered within easy reach of all geographical areas in Hampshire via a direct delivery model, as staff will be attending from across the county. The contract value will not be in excess of 129 000 GBP. There will be a requirement for close liaison between the course provider, the Workforce Development Team and the AMHP service operational lead to ensure that the courses meet all necessary requirements. Hampshire County Council operates a mandatory internal preparation pathway for staff before they are accepted as candidates for AMHP training, which is validated as either a Graduate Certificate or Diploma, therefore the AMHP courses will need to follow on rationally from the preparation course. The successful supplier will provide as a minimum: research materials, academic teaching, learning materials and course books, support for placements, oversight for any lecturer practitioners, administrative support for students, additional learning support for students (if required), independent assessment of the learning outcomes, quality control of academic standards.
