Tender description

This PIN sets out the details of a potential opportunity for a multi year contract from Ordnance Survey (OS) for the hire of aircraft (typically 2-3) including pilots for acquisition of Aerial Photography over Great Britain, starting in February 2020. Ordnance Survey has been acquiring aerial imagery to assist in the creation and maintenance of its national database of Great Britain for over 50 years. Ordnance Survey currently leases 2 digital camera systems and employs its own staff as air camera operators while outsourcing the provision of aircraft under lease. This PIN is intended to alert the market to Ordnance Survey’s intention to tender for the lease of aircraft (to include ongoing maintenance of the aircraft, fuel, fully qualified commercial pilots, hangarage and office accommodation) in order to commence flying from February 2020 with aircraft availability for the February to November flying seasons.
