Provision of Allotment Facilities at Crumlin and Rathcoole (Two Lots)

Tender description

The Contract is for the provision of Allotment facilities in two separate locations within the Borough of Antrim and Newtownabbey. LOT 1: Crumlin The land, known locally as the Barleyfield, is located at the rear of Crumlin Community Centre, which is owned by Council and covers approximately 2,116 metres square (0.52 acres) This land has access available from Orchard Road (see enclosed Appendix 1). Project Scope – The scope for the scheme includes the following: • 10 small (50m2) and 20 large (100m2) allotment plots • Car parking for approx. 12 vehicles (including 2 No. disabled bays) • 2.4m perimeter Ibex fencing • 0.9m internal steel mesh fencing between plots • Pathways • Provision of sheds • 5m wide access gates • 2 No. water taps • Bays for skips LOT 2: Rathcoole The land is adjacent to and directly behind Rathcoole Primary School and was initially used as an all-weather pitch for pupils. The new site entrance would be off Derrycoole Way (see enclosed Appendix 2) Project Scope – The scope for the scheme includes the following: • 14 small (25m2) and 14 medium (50m2) allotment plots • 12 No. raised beds (3m x 2m) within school grounds • Car parking for 12 vehicles (including 2 No. disabled bays) • 2.4m perimeter Ibex fencing • 0.9m internal steel mesh fencing between plots • Pathways • Provision of sheds • 5m wide access gates • 2 No. water taps • Bays for skips
