Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) operate a number of diesel powered fleets of rolling stock, of which some are fitted with LED step lights/door lights, IÉ are planning on commencing a process for the procurement of IP68/IP67 LED lights and are seeking engagement with the market to understand the type of LED products available in the marketplace for these applications so we can undertake the required replacement works in a cost effective and sustainable manner. The attached document forms the basis for the market consultation, the objective by IÉ is to gain further insights into the current market of LED lighting available for Rolling Stock and what type of solutions are available. IÉ are therefore seeking a market consultation to find the optimum sourcing strategy for a new tender process planned for Q2 of 2019. This consultation will be used by IÉ to reduce product life cycle costs, optimize our procurement strategy, and discuss the opportunities and limitations of IÉ’s current product requirements. The LED fittings are required for 2 fleets, details listed as follows: — 29 000 diesel multiple unit (116 vehicles), — 22 000 diesel multiple unit (234 vehicles). Following an initial competitive tender process in 2018 for LED step lights for IÉ’s 29 000 fleet, the requirement has now extended for additional LED door step lights for IÉ’s 22000 fleet, IÉ are therefore seeking a market consultation to find the optimum sourcing strategy for a new tender process planned for Q2 of 2019.
