Tender description

City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (the Council) provides a comprehensive package of occupational health and wellbeing services to employees of the Council, Bradford Schools, and a range of other organisations, through the Employee Health and Wellbeing (EHWB) Service. This in-house service is made up of a multidisciplinary team including specialist practitioners (nurses, mediators, and wellbeing), technicians and administrators based in the centre of Bradford. Occupational health physicians work alongside the other members of this service to support the Council to be at the forefront of good practice with regards to employee health and wellbeing. The aim of this contract is to secure the services of 2 appropriately qualified Occupational Health Physicians (OHP) to run clinics as part of the EHWB Service. Occupational Health Physicians (OHP's) Both OHP’s should have a minimum of 2 years experience of working in a public sector organisation. They will also be registered with the GMC and have no restrictions in practice. They will hold Associate of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (AFOM), or Member of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (MFOM), and the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FOM) Certificate in Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome. The OHP’s must be able to undertake: — comprehensive occupational health assessments, providing outcome reports to managers that support them in their attendance management responsibilities and advise on rehabilitation of employees back into work after sickness absence, — tier 4 HAVS assessments, — driver medical examinations (group 2 DVLA), — local government pension assessments – acting as IRMP, — completion of NHS pension and teacher pension medical forms clinics. Each OHP will provide 2 clinic days (not more than once per fortnight and not less than once per month) from the employee health and wellbeing service based in Bradford City centre. The clinic will be delivered by a named OHP substitution of another OHP can only be made in exceptional circumstances and with prior agreement with the EHWB manager. A clinic day will comprise of: — occupational health assessments and acting as Independent Registered Medical Practitioner (IRMP) for local government pension assessments, or — driver medicals, health surveillance (including tier 4 HAVS), and acting as IRMP for local government pension assessments. At times of increased demand for the service, some occupational health assessments will be undertaken within the clinic day.
