Tender description
The Countryfile Ramble for BBC Children in Need is an annual fundraising event that started in 2015. It comprises five presenter-led Rambles taking place across the UK on one weekend in October. Each presenter is accompanied by a child or young person or group of young people that are supported by projects funded by BBC Children in Need. The events create a special programme for Countryfile that is transmitted in late October/early November (depending on scheduling). Since the Countryfile Ramble started, it has raised more than £6.5m for BBC Children in Need. The Rickshaw Challenge is an annual fundraising event that has taken place since 2011. It follows six teenagers as they ride a rickshaw several hundred miles across the UK over the course of eight days in November. The Challenge is presented by Matt Baker and is shown on the BBC One Show and its finale is part of the main Children in Need Appeal programme. Over the years the event has raised over £26.5m from donations from One Show viewers and BBC CIN supporters. In addition to raising money the event provides an opportunity to show viewers the positive impact of their donations and shine a light on the lives of the teenage riders. Potential suppliers should note that both the Rickshaw Challenge and Countryfile Ramble are both open to procurement individually, and require two entirely separate tender responses as per the two separate Bravo Solution ITTs. However, we expect that some organisations may bid for both projects and that, given potential economies of scale, this might enable them to provide greater value for money in their bids. If you wish to bid for both projects, please could you inform us of this and reflect this by providing two budgets for each project – one that reflects the cost as a single bid and one that reflects the cost as a joint bid.
