Tender description
UKAS – The United Kingdom Accreditation Service is the sole national accreditation body in the UK. UKAS was appointed as the sole national accreditation body in the UK, by The Accreditation Regulations 2009 (statutory instrument No 3155/2009), responsible for assessing and accrediting the competence of conformity assessment bodies. It operates under a Memorandum of understanding with the secretary of state for business innovation and skills (secretary of state), who has licensed UKAS to use the national accreditation logo and national accreditation symbols featuring the Royal Crown, and to sub-license the use of the national accreditation symbols to UKAS accredited organisations.
