Tender description
The Council is setting up a framework for interpreting and communication services for people who are d/Deaf and Deafblind, to allow the Council to buy communication services from a list of approved providers who meet a certain set of minimum standards. Approved providers will then be able to bid to deliver communication services. The services which will be commissioned under the framework will fall into one of the disciplines listed under the 11 lots in this notice. Expression of interest and tender process: Expressions of interest will only be accepted via the Kent Business Portal. Once you have expressed an interest, you will be emailed an invitation to access the invitation to tender and submit a tender. Questions and communication: Please direct all questions and communications through the Kent Business Portal via the Discussion facility. BSL face to face interpreting. Interpreters for Deafblind People — Including the following sub-lots: — 2a Deafblind Manual Alphabet, — 2b Block Alphabet, — 2c BSL Visual Frame, — 2d Hands on Signing, — 2e Social Haptic Communication, — 2f BSL Visual frame Unqualified but BSL Interpreter. Transcription services including the following sublots: — 3a Manual Note Taking, — 3b Electronic Note Taking. Lip speakers including the following sublots: — 4a English Language lip speakers, — 4b Other Language lip speakers. Speech to text reporters including the following sublots: — 5a Palantypist, — 5b Remote Speech to Text Reporter. Deaf relay services. BSL Sign language translator, including the following sublots: — 7a Document Translation, — 7b Audio/Visual Material Transcription/Translation, — 7c In-Vision Translator. Video interpreting services including the following sublots: — 8a Video Remote Interpreting (VRI), — 8b Video Relay Services (VRS). Other sign language interpreting from an international range of languages. Trainee interpreters. Provision of out of hours emergency booking service.
