Tender description
Transport for London (TfL) is committed to the Mayor’s Vision Zero to reduce road deaths to zero by 2041. This strategy engages with the issue of suicide on the rail and underground network. The majority of suicide attempts occur on the deep tube lines, but suicides can happen at any time across the network. To achieve this aim TfL has launched the Technology Preventing Suicide (TPS) project. A feasibility study to assess potential options for technological innovation to prevent suicide on the network. As part of the study, TfL are conducting market engagement which should help shape how we define, contract for and procure and develop a totally new and innovative solution through assessing the current market capabilities as well as appetite from the market to partner with TfL to develop a new solution. This Prior Information Notice is to notify the market of TfL’s intention to carry out market engagement and to provide details of how the process is to be conducted. TfL is committed to setting London on the path to eliminating death and serious injuries on our transport network by 2041. As part of achieving this goal this early market engagement aim is to identify technologies that can help prevent suicide attempts on the Rail and Underground network, to prove the viability and feasibility of a technology, while also taking into consideration the possibility to scale up the deployment of the technology across the network to help reduce suicide attempts. Accompanying this PIN is a Market Sounding Questionnaire (MSQ) containing further details of the TPS project. along with a Questionnaire) to facilitate input to the feasibility study. To receive the MSQ Expression of Interest (EOI) should be sent to roberthughes@tfl.gov.uk Responses to the MSQ should be provided to roberthughes@tfl.gov.uk and are politely requested by no later than Friday 29.4.2019.
