Tender description

Provide an all age Neurodevelopmental Pathway, covering diagnosis of Adult ADHD and Autism in Rotherham. NHS Rotherham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) (the “Authority”) intend to without competition during the period 1.9.2019 — 31.3.2023 to commission an all age Neurodevelopmental Pathway, covering diagnosis of Adult ADHD and Autism in Rotherham to the incumbent providers as detailed below: Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber (RDaSH) NHS Foundation Trust, Woodfield House, Tickhill Road Site, Balby, Doncaster. DN4 8QN. Autistic people and their families living in Rotherham have said, through engagement events, that they want a local (Rotherham) service, fully aligned to current Children and Young People’s autism provision, creating a seamless pathway of care. Autistic people have also said that they want provision which is aligned to current NHS mental health and learning disability provision in Rotherham, provided by RDASH. There is already an established Rotherham Place Pathway for Children and Young People, provided through Rotherham CAMHS. This development will allow greater alignment and integration to the current commissioned RDaSH provision in relation to: — children and young people autism and ADHD diagnostic and post diagnostic support provided through the neurodevelopmental pathway, — adult learning disability community health provision. The full integration of this pathway can only be achieved by bringing C&YP and Adults services together; the CCG has identified transition as a key area for improvement. It is judged by the CCG as being in the patient’s best interest to make the direct award RDASH as well will avoid any fragmentation of care pathway delivery. It has been reported that travelling to areas outside of Rotherham can cause anxiety and so locating this in Rotherham in RDaSH would address this cause of anxiety. RDaSH is a well-established NHS partner with Rotherham CCG and Rotherham Council. RDaSH provide for Rotherham: — adult and older people’s inpatient and community mental health services, including elements of rehabilitation, crisis and home treatment, assertive outreach, early intervention in psychosis and day services. The Trust also provides psychological therapies and primary care mental health services, — children and young people’s mental health services — a range of psychotherapeutic approaches and interventions for children and adolescents with mental health problems, — adult community learning disability services supporting people in the community and helping people with complex needs, as well as providing leisure, recreational and educational activities. RDaSH have the local infrastructure to support and sustain the pathway and this approach will be in alignment with the new direction of Government health policy, which has been recently published for discussion as ‘’The NHS Long Term Plan’’ www.longtermplan.nhs.uk The all age Neurodevelopmental Pathway will cover 2 interrelated core elements: 1) Autism: — adult diagnosis (without a learning disability): support colleagues in mental health services to assess and diagnose using a NICE clinical diagnosis tool. Social and sensory support assessments to people who have been diagnosed. Support colleagues in primary care and support groups on mindfulness, managing anxiety, social cognition and interaction, as well as an opportunity to book one to one sessions; 2) ADHD: — to support adult diagnosis and to support medication compliance for a young person as they move into adulthood. To support primary care in supporting adults with ADHD.
