Tender description

Award of a 2 year contract to the Isle of Wight NHS Trust for the provision of an integrated sexual health service. Contract commenced 1.4.2019. The Isle of Wight Council has recently had a failed procurement for the provision of the services. The council published a VEAT notice in the OJEU informing the market of its intention to award a 2 year contract to the IW NHS Trust while the council looks to transform the services before recommencing a procurement process for the longer term contract. The services covered under the contract are as follows: The Isle of Wight Council is looking for a provider who can deliver an integrated specialist sexual health service model that aims to improve sexual health by providing easy access to services, at the right place at the right time meeting the needs of residents of the Isle of Wight. This will be through an open access service, focused on improving sexual health, reducing STIs and meeting contraceptive need, usually by one health professional. It is expected that the integrated sexual health service will be innovative utilising digital interventions and new ways of working with a number of stakeholders, settings and organisations to improve efficiency and reduce duplication for both the service and the service users alike. The service will include preventative work and psychosexual counselling provision. The service will work to ensure links and pathways to key services including termination of pregnancy services and HIV treatment and care which are currently commissioned separately by the CCG and NHS England respectively.
