Tender description
This project will address the skills and productivity issues of employees in SMEs in sectors presenting the greatest opportunities for economic growth in Leeds City Region (LCR). Delivered as an integrated component, the project will increase productivity in SMEs by delivering an additional offer to employer and employees not currently available through the ESIF skills service that will: 1) Improve staff motivation, leadership, communication and teamwork; 2) Increasing staff retention; 3) Enhance employee involvement and commitment to the company; 4) Ensure higher levels of financial performance by SME employers enhance and enable business strategy and operational planning to achieve growth. WYCC will issue an invitation to tender from new and existing providers to increase capacity and capability in our supply chain to deliver the project “Higher Performing Workplaces (HPW)”. HPW Framework providers will bolster and enhance our skills service offer to businesses through making available additional in-demand skills and competencies to employees. Providers will deliver part funded training to include the following subject areas: 1) Interventions for export and innovation to enable SMEs to access new domestic and international markets; 2) Innovative working practices, increase innovation and grow internal talent; 3) Innovative working and employment practices that wrap around operational and employee demands; 4) Leadership skills in particular with specific interventions to support female employees to narrow the gender gap in leadership positions; 5) Development of effective HR practices to support succession planning and encouraging workplace diversity, policy and strategy planning and positive workplace cultures. Training will be accredited, non accredited, bespoke, mentoring and coaching. This will provide an additional unique offer to business by incentivising employers to train their staff through a package of support which builds on good practice and lessons learned from the skills service to unlock the potential of the skills system for LCR businesses by increasing the proportion of the resident working age population with higher level skills & competencies to raise business and economic performance.
