Car park building construction work

Tender description

Following completion of an OJEU compliant tender process (2009/S 196-281470), the successful supplier was engaged to deliver a number of decked/surface park and ride sites across Greater Manchester. Since construction completed it has become apparent that the take-up and forecast patronage will exceed that which was anticipated and that further expansion is required at 3 of the sites (Radcliffe, Whitefield and Hollinwood). The initial scope of works included “future proofing” of the decks to allow for possible future expansion via the incorporation of an additional deck, which comprised the enhancement of the foundations (and piling) and supporting columns, sufficient to carry the increased loading of a potential future additional single deck at all sites. Works delivered under this contract will entail the construction of an additional parking deck at the 3 sites, utilising the future proofing provisions at the sites and deliver enhanced parking capacity.
