Yorkshire Water Services (YWS) are seeking a single partner to provide software asset management services. This is intended as a long-term relationship, with a duration of 3 years, the possibility of a 3-year extension, followed by a further 2 year extension. The goals of this partnership are to reduce the operating cost of YWS’ licence estate whilst also ensuring licence compliance. Yorkshire Water Services (YWS) are seeking to enhance their approach to Software Asset Management (SAM), with the help of an expert service partner. YWS’ goals are to reduce the cost of managing the software estate and improve agility in sourcing, renewing and managing entitlements, whilst ensuring compliance. Furthermore, the SAM strategy needs to move with broader technology and business goals. These include more agile ways of working, automation and self-service, greater use of cloud infrastructure, and technology “as a service”. As a chosen partner, you will be an expert in your field, with capabilities across the software asset lifecycle. You will have access to product experts across YWS’ major vendors, you will help shape YWS’ IT strategy and future roadmaps and keep the team up to date on industry trends and licensing changes. You will always endeavour to obtain best price for new entitlements and renewals alike, demonstrating where you’ve made savings across the lifetime of the contract. You will seek to continuously improve the SAM function, working across all levels of the organisation to foster innovation and help deliver YWS’ business plan and organisational objectives. YWS are seeking one long-term partner to provide a best-in-class service for the following: — software renewal and procurement services, including (but not limited to): —— enterprise software and infrastructure (virtual machines, hypervisors, infrastructure management platforms and software-defined systems), —— IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, —— expert guidance and best practice, — software asset management and compliance services: —— compliance and usage audits, and support for vendor-led audits, —— maintenance and/or operation of software asset register, —— licence usage optimisation, — software portfolio management, — cloud usage and spend management services, including pre-contract guidance on options, and in-contract analytics and insight to optimise usage and spend, — strategy and guidance, collaboration with YWS and its other trusted infrastructure partners to achieve YWS overall technology goals. Please note that YWS are not seeking bids from joint ventures. Rather, YWS intend to appoint a Large Value Reseller partner who will be responsible and accountable for delivering and managing contracted work, irrespective of whether solutions are sourced direct from OEMs, distributors or other partners.
