Tender description

The Education and Training Foundation awarded 2 contracts to assist in the development of a framework, resources and a CPD programme to support the FE workforce with the introduction of the latest functional skills qualifications. The workforce support programme supports all aspects of the introduction of newly reformed functional skills, with particular focus on the introduction of phonics teaching to adults (now part of the entry level english functional skills qualifications). The Education and Training Foundation awarded two contracts to assist in the development of a framework, resources and a CPD programme to support the FE workforce with the introduction of the new functional skills qualifications. The workforce support programme supports all aspects of the introduction of newly reformed functional skills with particular focus on the introduction of phonics teaching to adults (now part of the entry level english functional skills qualifications). This tender had four strands: Strand 1: Resources for the teaching of phonics to adults; Strand 2: Produce and pilot training on phonics for Initial Teacher Education (ITE) and existing teachers of Functional Skills; Strand 3: Roll out of training on phonics for Initial Teacher Education (ITE) and existing teachers of Functional Skills; Strand 4: Collaborative projects. Contracts were awarded for Strands three and four only. Strands one and 2 were retendered and awarded separately.
