Tender description

UK Power Networks is responsible for the distribution of electricity in 3 licensed areas: East Anglia (EPN), London (LPN) and South Eastern England (SPN). UK Power Networks are required to update and maintain accurate records of their network assets. NetMAP is UK Power Networks dedicated geographical information system (GIS) for the recording of our linear assets (overhead lines, cables and associated assets). The scope of the programme is to create a cohesive, standardised vectorised electricity network across UK Power Networks EPN and LPN licence areas. Suppliers interested in providing these services or understanding more about this requirement should contact Priya Tailor — Category Specialist IS Services via email (quoting RFI UKPN 003) at Priya.Tailor@ukpowernetworks.co.uk to request a copy of the Request for Information (RFI) by or before 10:00 am Monday 15.4.2019. The RFI will be issued to the interested parties on Monday 15.4.2019. The closing date for responding to the RFI will be 05:00 pm Monday 29.4.2019. Currently, UK Power Networks has a range of variation across it’s GIS data. With the SPN instance of NetMAP, the network asset data is held as vector data (digitised format) whereas in EPN and LPN it is mainly held as raster data (i.e. as a picture) with 15–20 % vectorised. The objective of this project is to convert this existing raster records to full vector. The scope of the programme is to create a cohesive, standardised vectorised electricity network across UK Power Networks EPN and LPN licence areas.
