Tender description

1.1 Cork Institute of Technology [CIT] is seeking tenders for the supply, installation and commissioning of a plate distillation plant for undergraduate teaching purposes at a university-level chemical engineering laboratory. The plant will be used to: - teach distillation; - teach material and energy balances; and, in the future, - might be used to teach process control, including use of a Delta V system already available in CIT. Provision must be made for this point. The unit must be capable of both batch and continuous operation. In the case of continuous operation, the products must be cooled and recycled to the feed, to minimise inventory of chemicals. The plant must be reliable, robust and safe, to suit its use by inexperienced operators.
