Tender description

The need for a new LMS for NHS library services in South West and South Central England. The NHS library services in this region have used a shared LMS — OLIB, provided and hosted by OCLC – since 2003. The system is currently used by 23 library services and includes 48 physical library locations; to enhance discovery of content, journal holdings records are maintained on the system for an additional 16 health libraries in the South which use other LMS for circulation. The shared LMS is used for management of both print and electronic books and journals. Each library service purchases its own resources. In total, there are c 75 000 title records and c 200 000 linked copy and holdings records. NHS staff, trainees and students in the region register with their local library (although trainees and student users in particular may move across the region).
