Tender description

— GM Connected Wayfinding is an initiative to provide a wayfinding system for Greater Manchester. The ambitions for this proposal extend across the urban environment, across all modes, supporting ease of modal interchange and onward journey planning from the beginning to the end of a journey, — following completion of a design solution progressed by TfGM, Manchester City Council and other stakeholders (initially for Phase 1 — GM Connected), TfGM procured a framework agreement (single supplier) for the supply and installation of the physical products (arrival displays and static totems), to be located at strategic nodes and removal of existing street furniture (“decluttering”), — this framework agreement will have an initial call-off for GM Connected that is intended to deliver Phase 1 (delivery area between Piccadilly and Victoria Rail Stations), and the instruction of other subsequent phases and/or requirements during the term will be subject to funding. — a single contractor is appointed under the framework with a call-off arrangement, using agreed terms and rates for delivery of different phases and elements required over the term, subject to funding. A maintenance option requirement will be included in the call-off arrangement, however TfGM reserve the right to progress the award of an agreement without the maintenance requirement, — the framework is intended to be available for use or “call-off” by TfGM and any affiliated organisations and successor organisations including the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), Rail North, Transport for North (TfN), the 10 members of the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities, the 10 members of the urban transport group and Cheshire West and Chester Council, — the duration of the framework will not exceed 4 years, — the lower end of the value range specified is the estimated minimum value of estimated supplies and associated works to be instructed based on the initial requirement for GM Connected Phase 1 within Manchester city centre between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria stations, — the upper end of the range beyond the 750 000 GBP budget for Phase 1 reflects potential funding that maybe obtained for similar provision during the term of the framework, however there is no further detail on other available funding beyond that identified for Phase 1, — the value of future potential phases and requirements will vary, — there is no guarantee given relating to supplies and associated works to be instructed via the framework agreement, — a maintenance requirement was included in the call-off arrangement and appropriate rates sought.
