Tender description

Following the approval of the Council’s new Zero Waste Strategy and Implementation Plan, North Ayrshire Council require suitable bids for the treatment of the following Post-Consumer Recyclate streams to be in place from 1.4.2019: 1) Treatment of Post-Consumer Mixed Papers and Cardboard (estimated 7 500 tonnes); 2) Treatment of Post-Consumer Mixed Plastics, Beverage Cartons (Cardboard Lined cartons), Cans and Glass containers; (estimated 4 600 tonnes); 3) Treatment of Post-Consumer Comingled Dry Recyclable Waste (recyclate) (mixed papers, news and PAMS, cardboard, plastic bottles, plastic containers, beverage cartons (cardboard lined cartons) cans and glass containers) (estimated 2 500 tonnes). The tonnages provides gives an indication of the likely tonnages from the Council, however no minimum tonnage guarantee or commitment to the level of tonnage can be given. Lot 1 includes the treatment of post-consumer mixed papers and cardboard (estimated 7 500 tonnes). Pricing Option 2 — Direct tip at supplier’s delivery point — the supplier is required to make available a delivery point to accept recyclate within: (a) the Council Area Boundary or; (b) a maximum of 15 miles from the Council’s Delivery Point (KA11 5DF).
