Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust (MTW), on behalf of the Kent and Medway STP (Sustainability and Transformation Partnership) incorporating the below partners, is leading on the procurement activity for pathology specialised referred diagnostics (“send away tests”). — Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust; — Medway NHS Foundation Trust; — Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust; — East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. Prior Information Notice (PIN): Referred Diagnostics (“Send Away Tests”) for Pathology Within Kent and Medway. Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust (MTW), on behalf of the Kent and Medway STP (Sustainability and Transformation Partnership) incorporating the below partners, is leading on the procurement activity for pathology specialised referred diagnostics (“send away tests”). — Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, — Medway NHS Foundation Trust, — Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, — East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. The Trusts presently operate a range of pathology laboratories and undertake the majority of pathology testing in-house. However, as is common, there is a requirement for a range of more specialised tests to be referred off-site to a range of separate and independent providers. The Trusts are currently undertaking a repatriation exercise, whereby overall STP capacity and capability is being reviewed. However it is anticipated that external capacity and/or expertise will be required for a range of tests. The Trusts have not yet definitively determined those tests which will be in scope, in what volumes and over what timeframe the provision of these services will be required. Nor have they determined the most appropriate route to market. The purpose of this Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to inform prospective providers of an intention to seek to enter into a contract(s) with a Provider(s) for the provision of these services. To support in this, and to gain market intelligence/feedback, the Trust (MTW) will be holding a market engagement event and/or individual provider discussions.
