Summary of the work Technical Lead for the End User Compute project, which aims to replace all existing EUC services (e.g to Win10, O365). Technical lead advising on legacy system changes either to address critical business issues or enable smoother migration to new services Assuring alignment with transformation plans (e.g networks, LoB application transformation) Specialist role Technical Architect Expected Contract Length 24-Months total-Initial 6months-further period up to 18months depending on business need&performance Latest start date Monday 25 March 2019 Who Speclialist Work With They will work as part of a Technical Design Authority who are responsible for specific domains. They will need to collaborate closely with delivery teams and business stakeholders across the enterprise in a multi-supplier environment. HMPO is moving from a large outsourced SI arrangement to an in-house, largely cloud based and open source based solutions delivered iteratively. What Specialists Work On Work packages include: 1.Technical lead on HMPO's strategy to replace its existing EUC services (e.g End User Devices, Voice, Office, Windows OS, Citrix, Active Directory, File storage) 2.Define transition strategy 3.Technical SME on investments in legacy EUC services and troubleshooting ensuring they align with technical strategy 4. Intelligent customer to central shared services team who are delivering many of the services we intend to re-use 5. Identification and mitigation of technical risks 6. Analysis of contingency options for EUC services 7. HMPO technical lead on user migration and data migration as part of the HMPO transformation Skills & Experience • Extensive experience of large scale EUC upgrade or migration projects, and ability to troubleshoot to highly detailed and deep level in End User Services environment. Deploying contract centre solutions • In depth experience of knowledge of Windows, Windows Active Directory, Experience of automated Microsoft OS deployment, Experience of VMware and virtualisation technologies and terminal solutions (Citrix) • Experience of deploying/migrating applications built using a broad range of current and heritage technologies to a Windows 10 desktop environment or similar • Experience of corporate services such as VOIP or Print Services (Multi Function, Follow Me) • Experience in building and scaling of System Center Configuration Manager • Extensive experience in Software Provisioning & Packaging and COTS Application deployment such as experience of migrating to O365 Nice to Haves • Experience of HMPO systems or similar government operational systems • Experience of GDS best practices Work Location Victoria. London Working Arrangments Typically on-site with wider team and clients in an Agile environment. Some site visits. Use of Confluence, Jira and ardoq are the tools used to track progress against deliverables. Security Clearance SC Clearance is required.
