Tender description

Torfaen County Borough Council with the support of Local Partnerships through the Green Growth Wales Programme has carried out an asset review of land in local authority ownership to identify opportunities for commercialisation and income generation through the development of renewables The capped former landfill site at Ty Coch was identified as a possible site and with good irradiance and a competitive grid connection offer to export electricity has become a priority opportunity. The opportunity is to develop up to 5MW of solar PV generation on land at Ty Coch in Torfaen to both generate a sustainable income and move towards a zero carbon economy. The land is owned by Torfaen County Borough Council (TCBC) and is currently a capped former landfill site with green field grazing land adjacent.
