Framework for subscriptions to electronic bibliographic databases for the Health Research Board National Drug Library

The Health Research Board (HRB) is the lead agency in Ireland supporting and funding health research. We provide funding, maintain health information systems and conduct research linked to national health priorities. Our aim is to improve people's health, build health research capacity and make a significant contribution to Ireland's knowledge economy. Our latest Corporate Strategy clearly outlines how we hope to achieve this working in partnership with other organizations. The HRB subscribes to a number of electronic bibliographic databases which cover broad health, health policy, psychology, criminal justice and social care subject areas. These databases comprise an important part of the HRB National Drug Library collection and provide researchers and library users with immediate access to the full breadth of international research in the drug, alcohol, addiction, social care and criminal justice fields. These databases support the work of the National Drugs Library. The maintenance of this collection is essential if the HRB National Drugs Library is to function effectively as a special research library. In addition these databases support the work of the EMCDDA team and the National Drug Strategy Team.
