CIT Pipework Upgrade Works 2018

Tender description

This project involves 3 main elements of works. The first element is the replacement and rerouting of mains water pipework within blocks B & C of the building. Existing galvanised pipework has been replaced in portions throughout the building and this project shall replace the remaining galvanised pipework as shown in the drawings. The corridors are particularly congested in certain locations and the contractor is to visit site prior to submitting a tender to identify any pinch points which may cause difficulty. No additional allowance shall be made for coordination issues that were readily visible during a site visit. The second element of the works relates to the existing LPHW feed from the boiler room to the main building. Currently a 250mm flow and return feed to the building is provided underground and rising with Block A of the main building. This project shall provide a new route at high level from the tie-in point in the boiler room to the roof of the main building above this same riser in Block A. The new high level route from the boiler room to the main building shall be via the east side of the existing pipebridge to cross the internal access road on the campus. All crainage and fall protection for personnel and equipment shall be provided by the contractor as part of this project. Additional steel supports shall also be required to support the rise of pipework onto the pipebridge upper level and this shall also form part of this contract. The tie-in points within the riser in block A are particularly congested and the contractor must allow for works within confined spaces in their tender price.
