Tender description

Larne The proposal includes the erection of 2no. Portland stone pillars located to both sides of the existing cenotaph. The cenotaph is proposed to be surrounded by 3no. low level walls clad in Portland stone. These are to visually tie together the side pillars with the central cenotaph and create a semi oval ‘plaza’ space that would naturally draw attention to the centrally located original memorial. The ‘plaza’ is to be newly paved and fitted with 2no benches provided by the Client. Whitehead The objective is to provide an upgraded space for the names of the soldiers who fell in the First and Second World Wars and had been living in the area to be memorialised. The design is also to improve the area and to provide a dignified medium through which to display the names of the fallen and a place for people to come and pay their respects. The above paragraphs are only a short description of the works. The Tenderer shall provide the works in accordance with the tender information (see Documents 2 and 3 – Drawings, Specification and Pre-Construction Information Pack).
