Tender description

This specification forms part of the contract between the Authority and the provider as the responsible organisation for the overall management of the provision of a smoking cessation service in the London Borough of Redbridge (“the Contract”). The provider shall undertake the provision of a smoking cessation service to the specified groups in the London Borough of Redbridge (“the Service”) as detailed in this specification and in accordance with the conditions of contract. The main components of the smoking cessation service are: — prevention and outreach, — treatment service, — harm reduction. The Council of the London Borough of Redbridge ("The Authority") invites suitably qualified and experienced organisations to tender for the contract for the provision of a smoking cessation service in the London Borough of Redbridge (“The Contract”). The provider shall provide a high quality, comprehensive, evidence-based smoking cessation service that supports smokers to quit: to reduce the prevalence of smoking in the local area and achieve improved health outcomes for residents. The provider shall deliver the following: — support service users to quit smoking using behavioural support and pharmacotherapy, — reduce health inequalities by delivering targeted support for those who are at great risk of Tobacco Related Harm, — improve health outcomes by reducing exposure to second-hand smoking, — embed prevention as part of service delivery to prevent children and young people from starting to smoke, — deliver effective marketing and health promotion campaigns to promote the benefits of stopping smoking, — deliver high quality smoking cessation service with a reputation for high level of service user engagement and satisfaction.
