Tender description

The purpose of this notice is to draw attention to a procurement that NHS Supply Chain intends to commence during the subsequent 12 months for the supply of skin cleansing and disinfection products for patient use, including but not limited to hand hygiene products, skin wipes, patient cleansing products, localised skin disinfectant, body decolonisation products biocides and LMP skin and body disinfectants. Precise quantities are unknown, initial expenditure in the first year including growth is expected to be in the region of 33 186 250 GBP. The estimated value over the total Framework Agreement term will be in the region of 138 117 860 GBP. Products included in this lot that are within scope for this lot include but are not limited to: Handwash, Alcohol free hand sanitiser, Hand sanitiser, Moisturiser, Dispensers and accessories such as belt clips, drip trays etc. The requirement may include assistance/ training around the intended use of the products and aftercare such as auditing. Evidence of compliance with the Cosmetics Directive, Biocidal Regulations and Medical Devices Directive may also be required. Some of these products areas may be subject to clinical evaluation as part of the tender process. Products may be supplied via the Stock, Blue Diamond and E-Direct routes to market. Skin wipes for patient cleansing. Products included in this lot that are within scope for this lot include but are not limited to: Hand and face wipes, Bed bath wipes and Continence wipes. The requirement may include assistance/ training around the intended use of the products and aftercare such as auditing. Evidence of compliance with the Cosmetics Directive, Biocidal Regulations and Medical Devices Directive may also be required. Some of these product areas maybe subject to clinical evaluation as part of the tender process. Products may be supplied via the Stock, Blue Diamond and E-Direct routes to market. Hygiene products for patient cleansing. Products included in this lot that are within scope for this lot include but are not limited to: Shampoo, Shampoo caps, Shower gel, Bodywash, Mouthwash, Tablet soap and Baby bath. The requirement may include assistance/ training around the intended use of the products and aftercare such as auditing. Evidence of compliance with the Cosmetics Directive, Biocidal Regulations, Medicines Act 1968 (as amended) and Medical Devices Directive may also be required. Some of these product areas maybe subject to clinical evaluation as part of the tender process. Products may be supplied via the Stock, Blue Diamond and E-Direct routes to market. Skin disinfection products for localised general skin disinfection. Products included in this lot that are within scope for this lot include but are not limited to: Skin disinfectants biocidal products for general skin disinfection, Skin cleansing/pre-injection swabs for adhesive removal and skin cleansing containing 70 % IPA, Skin cleansing wipes containing 2 % Chlorhexidine in 70 % IPA, Dispensers and accessories such as drip trays. The requirement may include assistance/ training around the intended use of the products and aftercare such as auditing. Evidence of compliance with the Cosmetics Directive, Biocidal Regulations and Medical Devices Directive may also be required. Some of these product areas maybe subject to clinical evaluation as part of the tender process. Products may be supplied via the Stock, Blue Diamond and E-Direct routes to market. Antimicrobial products for body decolonisation. Products included in this lot that are within scope for this lot include but are not limited to: Body wash, Mouthwash, Shampoo caps and nasal gels. The requirement may include assistance/ training around the intended use of the products and aftercare such as auditing. Evidence of compliance with the Biocidal Regulations maybe required. Products may be supplied via the Stock, Blue Diamond and E-Direct routes to market. Products included in this lot that are within scope for this lot include but are not limited to: Products used for skin disinfection classified as licensed medical products with or without an applicator and containing either Chlorhexidine, Povidone Iodine or other suitable active disinfectant ingredient(s). The requirement may include assistance/ training around the intended use of the products and aftercare such as auditing. Evidence of compliance with the Medicines Act 1968 (as amended) may also be required. Some of these product areas maybe subject to clinical evaluation as part of the tender process.
