Rabies Potency Testing Service

Tender description

The Agency is looking for a supplier who can provide the Rabies Potency Testing Service. Samples will be provided by the agency to the supplier to perform the potency assay for Human Rabies Immunoglobulin product in an ISO17025 accredited laboratory within a timeframe of two weeks (10 working days) from receipt of sample as per their specified method. It is desirable that supplier should be a member of the OMCL (Official Medicines Control Laboratories) network. The results will be shared electronically with the agency. Currently buying pattern of this service is an average twice yearly. As far as we are aware there is only one supplier who is able to meet this very specific request. Potential suppliers if they feel they can meet the requirement should email Nawaz.habib@nibsc.org to register an interest. If no submissions of potential interest are received by close of play 21 March 2019, it is then intended to perform a direct award without competition to the sole supplier we believe can deliver the required service.
