Tender description
Under Care Quality Commission (CQC) statutory requirements the residential and enablement units operated by Birmingham City Council (BCC) are obliged to provide an efficient call system, which service users and staff can use, in line with statutory standards. Birmingham City Council needs to ensure that any system procured will meet the CQC fundamental standards that deliver the following outcomes: • Safe • Caring • Effective • Responsive • Well lead Birmingham City Council requires a supplier for the provision of an Emergency Call System for the 3 Care Centres namely, Perry Tree Centre, Ann Marie Howes and the Kenrick Centre. This should support 128 older adults age ranging from 65 and above residential suites, The call system will be primarily used to promote the health and wellbeing of all citizens whilst recognising the need to uphold safety and security at all times 24 hours a day. The call system will need to cover ranges within the residential unit including communal areas such as lounge, dining, restaurant, activities room and garden area. Based on the experimental evidence a higher volume of calls occur mornings and evenings 08:00 - 10:00 14:30 - 20:00. The service operates 24 hours a day adjoining areas and public access spaces. This contract will be for a period of 2 years commencing 8 April 2019 until 05 April 2021 (The start date may be subject to change). Registration and use of in-tend is free.
