Tender description

Landscape assessment of impact of East West Rail route options on Wimpole Hall Wimpole Hall is a Grade One listed building which is owned by the National Trust along with the adjoining estate. One of the key attractions of Wimpole Hall is its landscape setting, including a 4 km long avenue running South with views to the Royston Hills and its location to the North to SSSIs and ancient woodland. East West Railway Company is currently considering route options for a new build section of the railway between Bedford and Cambridge. The National Trust is concerned to ensure that views down the 4km avenue as well as views to the South more generally are not significantly adversely affected by route options which might either traverse the avenue or potentially go further South across land currently owned by MoD at RAF Bassingbourn.
