The Trust awarded a contract in 2013 to Filetek (now Centennial MIT) in relation to the supply of the Meditech Electronic Patient Record system. The contract runs until March 2020 with a 3 year option to extend which would take the end date to March 2023. The Trust would like to extend the contract further than the available 3 years and would prefer a 5 year contract extension. This notice is being issued to alert the market to the Trust’s intentions in relation to the proposed extension of the current Meditech Contract. If any party wishes to challenge or object to the Trust’s intention to extend the contract, there is a minimum 30 calendar day period in which to raise any objection. If the Trust does not receive any such objections by midnight on Thursday 11.4.2019, it will proceed with its intention to extend the contract. Extending the current Meditech contract by 5 years would provide additional continuity for the Trust and has a strategic fit to the Trust’s ambition to be digitally enabled and achieve outstanding outcomes for children. The recent Topol Review outlines recommendations for transforming the way we use digital development in the NHS to transform the way we care for patients. In addition, the NHS long term plan identifies the need to adopt a responsive and innovative approach in the workplace to reduce workload, improve and personalise patient care. The longer term stability of Meditech will provide for technological transformation and improve workforce productivity. This option would enable a focus on clinical quality and recording of health outcomes to support strategic decision making.
