Tender description

Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking tenders for the provision of a low level, short term supported accommodation service in South Nottinghamshire (any of the Broxtowe, Gedling or Rushcliffe Borough areas). This service will support people aged 18 or over who have either a learning disability, a mental health issue, autism, or a physical disability, to enable them to gain or regain independent living skills. This tender is for the delivery of a support only contract. The Provider is required to provide access to housing that is appropriate to the needs of Service Users. This service will support people aged 18 or over who have either a learning disability, a mental health issue, autism, or a physical disability, to enable them to gain or regain independent living skills. It will be offered on a short term basis and the aim is to prevent the need for more intensive, ongoing support by connecting people to their communities and maximising their independence. This tender is for the delivery of a support only contract. The Provider is required to provide access to housing that is appropriate to the needs of Service Users. The Council will not enter into a contractual relationship with a housing provider nor pay any housing costs and there will be no nomination rights or rental void agreements.. The Provider will deliver an average of 6 hours per Service User per week of face to face support and have access to a minimum of 12 units of accommodation. A range of support options should be used, focussed on enabling people to effectively gain or regain the life skills necessary for more independent living. It is anticipated that people will move on from the service within 6 months and the Provider will work with Service Users to prepare and facilitate a move into more independent accommodation. The contract will run for an initial period of five years, with an option to extend, in increments of 12 months, up to a maximum of 10 years.
