Tender description

Umbrella is the provider of sexual health services in Birmingham and Solihull. Umbrella is a partnership, led by University Hospitals Birmingham (the Authority), consisting of a number of community-based organisations, charities and health service providers. In 2016, the Authority established a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for Community Based Sexual Health Services in Pharmacies. The call-off contracts that are the subject of this contract award notice were awarded as a result of Tender Round 1 under the DPS. The service elements within Tier 1 pharmacies include: — emergency hormonal contraception, — advance provision of emergency contraception, — condom distribution, — dispense STI testing kits, — targeted Chlamydia screening, — signposting to other Umbrella services. The service elements within Tier 2 pharmacies include: — emergency hormonal contraception, — advance provision of emergency contraception, — condom distribution, — dispense STI testing kits, — initiate STI testing and provide STI testing kits, — hepatitis vaccination, — initiate combined oral contraception, progesterone only oral contraception and contraception injections.
