Tender description

Cheshire East Borough Council seeks to commission 4 residential beds in a various defined locations suitable to meet the needs of service users accessing a period of respite support. The service commissioned must meet the needs of adults across the borough in a range of environments able to specifically accommodate the needs of service users who will have varying support needs. The contract(s) will be for an initial 2 years and 8 months with the option to extend for a further 2 x 12 months. The service will be commissioned on a block booked (weekly) basis and will go live on 1.4.2019, with bookings possibly being taken ahead of this. Approximate total contract value for all lots over the full contract period is expected to be 700 000 GBP. Requirement for this lot is for 1 residential bed for older people to be reasonably accessible using public transport to residents of Macclesfield, Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Congleton and surrounding areas, enabling GP and district nurse contact to be maintained if required. Agreement to run for potentially 4 years and 8 months in total, comprising an initial 2 year and 8 month period starting from 1.4.2019 — 30.11.2021, with 2 optional extension periods both of 12 months (i.e. until 30.11.2023 in total), extension options to be exercised at the sole discretion of the Council. Refer to tender documentation for the maximum weekly price payable for this lot. The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are Small or Medium Enterprises (SME’s). For the avoidance of doubt, the Contracting Authority points out that no weight will be attached to whether or not an economic operator is an SME in selecting economic operators to submit tenders or in assessing the most economically advantageous tender. Requirement for this lot is for 1 residential bed for older people with dementia to be reasonably accessible using public transport to residents of Cheshire East, enabling GP and district nurse contact to be maintained if required.
