Tender description

NHS Supply Chain intends to launch a National Framework Agreement for the provision of the following types of Monitoring Systems: — spot check, — vital signs, — patient (low, Mid and High Acuity), — pre-hospital transport, — Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) compatible, — central station, — telemetry, — foetal, — cardiac output, Electroencephalograph (EEG) and — Electromyography (EMG) and — Transfer (individual patient modular monitor). Please note that this framework will not cover the purchase of consumables alone. For the avoidance of doubt consumables will only be in scope of the proposed Framework if purchased alongside the types of equipment, as stated in any subsequent specification. Precise quantities are unknown. It is anticipated that initial expenditure will be in the region of 40 000 000 GBP in the first year of this Framework Agreement. However this is approximate only and the values may vary depending on the requirements of those bodies purchasing under the Framework Agreement. — spot check monitoring systems, — vital signs monitoring systems, — patient monitoring systems (low, mid and high acuity) suitable for all relevant clinical application areas, — pre-hospital transport monitoring systems, — MRI compatible monitoring systems, — central station monitoring systems, — telemetry monitoring systems and — transfer monitoring systems. Foetal monitoring systems are designed to monitor and provide visual output of selected physiological measurements from a patient. This Lot includes both antepartum and intrapartum monitoring systems. Cardiac output monitoring systems are designed to measure cardiac output (the volume of blood being pumped by the heart). This lot includes both adult and paediatric cardiac monitoring systems. Electroencephalography (EEG) monitoring systems are used to measure electrical activity of the brain and to aid in the clinical diagnosis of patients. Electromyography (EMG) monitoring systems are used as diagnostic tools — for identifying neuromuscular diseases and motor control disorders in patients.
