Tender description

This project proposes a scalable solution involving the reuse of anonymised journey telemetry from vehicles to obtain a picture of mass mobility. These data are monitored for insurance purposes but offer novel value from anonymous reuse in understanding congestion. The project will build a detailed statistical picture across all parts of the road network for every hour in the week, highlighting where vehicles go and how they behave. Subsequent analysis will focus on characterising typified and less-typified road conditions that lead to congestion, ballooning pollution levels and greater safety risks in vehicular environments. Results will provide detailed evidence on road congestion in terms of frequency, severity and causation.
