Summary of the work The 2017/18 GP IT Refresh Programme will include Project/Programme Management and Engineering for the implementation of deliverables defined by the GP IT Capital programme which include: • Desktop PC (500 PCs) • Desktop Scanners (100) • Network Switches (25) • Servers (20) • UPS (14) • Firewall refresh/implementation (50) Expected Contract Length 4 months Latest start date Monday 26 February 2018 Budget Range £100,000 to £120,000 Why the Work is Being Done An exciting opportunity for a supplier to support the delivery of hardware refresh schemes implementation associated with GPIT Capital Programme for 2017-18. Problem to Be Solved Delivery of GP IT capital refresh programmes approved by NHS England in December 2017. Who Are the Users Services are provided to General Practice across South London. There is a requirement to deliver this programme with minimal disruption to clinical services with minimal reliance on ‘out of hours’ work Early Market Engagement None to Date Work Already Done Outline Business Cases submitted to NHS England and approval given. Identification of assets to be replaced as part of the programme Existing Team The successful supplier will need to engage with the: Senior Management team of ICT with NELCSU Transformation Team (NEL 2020) Contracts & Resourcing team with ICT Procurement team with ICT PMO (London) Technical Service Operations Team Technical Services Support Team ICT Service Desk Current Phase Discovery Skills & Experience • Have demonstrable Project Management experience • Ability to demonstrate the analytical & technical skills to achieve the outputs of this programme • Experience working with suppliers • Experience of working in the commercial environment with ICT • Prince 2 Practitioner • Experience in delivering multiple ICT projects concurrently • Experienced at compiling realistic large project and/or programme plans and delivering to target • Experience of managing and motivating teams • Communication & Presentation Skills • Detailed Reporting Skills • Ability to lead and manage projects, displaying initiative and an innovative approach where necessary • Excellent relationship management skills and experience of liaison with senior managers and clients • Ability to understand the strategic overview whilst giving due attention to detail • Ability to identify opportunities, analyse options and develop creative solutions • Ability to work in a fast pace and evolving environment • CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) Nice to Haves • Experience of working in the ICT commercial environment within the NHS • PMP Certification • Degree Educated in a Technical subject • ISEB International Diploma in Business Analysis • 2 years working within the NHS Work Location NEL has a number of sites in which the supplier can work including 1 Lower Marsh, Waterloo which is the preferred site for this programme Working Arrangments Whilst this opportunity is being offered as a managed service, it forms part of our ICT Service Improvement Programme and therefore it is vital that the successful supplier's staff work closely on site with individual teams mentioned. This will include face to face meetings. There is an expectation for the supplier to be onsite at least 3 days a week. All expenses must be within the financial envelope. Will you pay expenses from main Waterloo address to GP sites in the vicinity? No. All expenses incurred should form part of the managed service. 2. Has there been or is there an incumbent supplier delivering GP IT refresh for South London? The work forms a requirement to deploy equipment as part of NHS England's 2017/18 Capital Programme. No suppliers have yet been engaged to deliver this work. A variety of suppliers have been engaged in delivering previous years' requirements in this locality 3. How many sites will the team be deployed to within South London? The programme has the potential to cover 330 GP Practice Sites across 9 CCGs in South London. Part of the project's requirements is to define exactly which sites will receive new equipment (project scope) from existing asset information. 4. Will the hardware be delivered ahead of the engineer's visit or will that form part of the work too In the main, equipment will be delivered to the site where it will be installed. There may be a requirement to take equipment from a Forward Stock Location within South London. NELCSU may provide transport where this is the case.
