Tender description

The Environment Agency have started a project to look at how predictive analytical techniques can be used to optimise flood defence asset maintenance and operations. We want to explore how data can be gathered from sensors deployed on pumping station components and how this data can be then used to detect anomalies and trends as components degrade. With the ultimate aim of completing a full prototype test, of an end-to-end sensing and decision-support system. This prototype will be deployed on an Environment Agency owned pumping station. Further information is available on the Bravo Portal. Please register on the portal and access via the opportunities list. We are keen to ensure our requirements are clearly understood by prospective contractors. We are therefore, running a “Question and Answer Webinar” session to discuss the project and the specification of the work. The Webinar will be held on the 16.3.2018 at 13:30 GMT for 1-2 hours. It is anticipated that the contract will be awarded in 8.2018 to be completed over approximately 21 months. We are looking for a team who have the skills and capability to research, procure, deploy (including securely networking) and maintain sensing instruments on to a single Environment Agency pumping station asset. Sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical infrastructure assets is vital with demonstrable experience in flood and water-level management as well as analogous water infrastructure sectors; specifically, experience of water pumping systems. This contract will be let to a single supplier, supplier with sub-contracting arrangements or consortium; that demonstrates they have the range of skills detailed in the specification and the capacity to complete all aspects of the work. Further information on this project is available on the Defra e-tendering portal (address provided above). Suppliers may also indicate on this portal whether or not they may be interested in attending a Supplier Engagement Question and Answer Webinar session on 16.3.2018. If your organisation is interested in this requirement and would like to attend the Q and A WebEx, please apply using the Bravo portal by 3:00 pm GMT on 9.3.2018: — Quote: Project_22968 — Monitoring Asset Performance for Maintenance Optimisation, — provide your organisation’s name, the contact name for the WebEx attendee including phone number and email address, — any questions you have regarding the requirement.
