Tender description

Councils have a statutory duty, under the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984, to provide suitable funeral arrangements for persons who have died, other than in hospital, when there is no next of kin, or persons willing to make suitable funeral arrangements. The purpose of this contract is to establish a set standard for funerals to be carried out as instructed by the authorities listed. It covers public health funerals where there are no known relatives or there is no one willing to come forward and undertake responsibility for the funeral. It sets out the expectations of service delivery and does not allow for amendments and additions other than those listed within the specification.
