Growth and Expansion of the Individual Placement and Support Programme

NHS England's plan to double access to IPS for people with severe and enduring mental illness by 20/21 presents the opportunity for a delivery partner to co-ordinate a response to the key implementation challenges and opportunities presented by the expansion. Initially this project would be for 1 year to support the expansion with the potential to extend to support years 2 and 3. We envisage the supplier's role to be: a. Ensuring hands-on implementation support from a network of IPS consultants, in line with all successful implementation practice of IPS in other countries such as the US, Australia, and New Zealand; b. Producing a workforce development programme to support recruitment and training of IPS staff; c. Ensuring central resources for commissioners, IPS providers, and clinical teams are in place; d. Providing effective reporting, monitoring, and evaluation mechanisms, to be used by services. The provider would need to be able to operate across various locations nationwide in line with expansion plans. This exercise is currently exploratory and the authorities reserve the right not to run the procurement. A market engagement session is being held on 9th March 2018 at 1400 hrs (GMT).
