COV - NUCKLE Phase 1 Package 2 - Design and Build (Rail)

Tender description

Coventry City Council seek to appoint a contractor to undertake the detailed design and construction of NUCKLE Phase 1 Package 2, the objective of which is to improve rail connectivity between Coventry and Nuneaton by enabling an increase in service frequency from 1 train per hour to 2 trains per hour between Coventry and Nuneaton, as well as introducing additional infrastructure to service Coventry Arena during events. The works involved in this project are; the creation of a new platform to the west of Warwick road, a reconfiguration of Coventry North sidings track layout with associated signalling, overhead line and electrical and plant alterations. The project will also deliver a new cross over at Coventry Arena station and implement stopping non stopping controls at Hawkesbury Lane level crossing. The GRIP 4 outline design (Form 001, Form A, AiP) is currently under preparation.
