Tender description
Learning Disabilities & Autism Market Development and Information event on 28/2/18. Providers are invited to participate in an event that is part of our ongoing dialogue with providers and local service users and family carers about how people can be supported around opportunities in their daily life. The event is about exploring what better days look like for learning disabled people living in the community. The Council has consulted on its in-house services. A third of people responded said they wanted services that are person centred and supported people to be more independent and live fulfilling lives. This is a chance for providers to talk about what innovative approaches they can deliver to meet these service user requirements. This is an opportunity to show case organisations who are working creatively with learning disabled people to use community resources, access employment opportunities, further education etc. in Rotherham. The day will help our stakeholders gain an understanding of what's new and creative in the market for learning disabled people needing support to access the community. The event is about exploring possibilities beyond traditional day services - what's possible. Commissioners are developing a supported living and better days framework (along with our stakeholders) and possible providers can hear what we are doing in Rotherham. Using market stalls we want interested organisations to demonstrate their service offer to learning disabled people and their families. We have opportunity for 5 providers to be represented at this event. Please respond on a first come first served basis in email to the Joint Head of Learning Disability and Autism Commissioning, detailing briefly what your service offer is and how you can contribute to the aims of this event. Please respond by email directly to garry.parvin@rotherham.gov.uk The event will be held at: New York Stadium, New York Way, Rotherham S60 1FJ. An attachment with details of the event schedule is published as part of this advertisement. Keywords: Training, Employment, Day Opportunities, Independence, Learning Disabilities, Autism
