Ventilation and air-conditioning installation work

Tender description

There are approximately 39 AHU's which are approaching the end of life and require refurbishment. However, due to access issues it is not possible to remove the existing AHU's and replace them with new packaged units, therefore they will have to be refurbished in situ. It is the University's intention to maximise the life of the refurbished units whilst optimising efficiencies and realising maximum energy savings. A full description of the works is included within the Preliminaries, Drawings, Scope of Works and Specifications accompanying the ITT. The contractor shall be responsible for the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the following services: — Fans, — Filters, — DP switches, — Inverters, — Aspects of the AHU shells, — Heating and Cooling coils, — Control valves, — Pipework, — Containment in association with the new installations, — Testing & Commissioning, — Production of O & M manuals and as fitted cad format drawings, — The contractor shall also employ one of the University's approved BMS contractors in order to carry out any BMS works associated with the AHU refurbishments, A full description of the works is included within the Preliminaries, Drawings, Scope of Works and Specifications accompanying the ITT. The Contractor will act as the principal contractor under the 2015 CDM Regulations.
