The Implementation of a Blood Sciences Laboratory Solution

Tender description

This competition concerns a blood sciences laboratory service within the broader context of the Clinical Directorate of Laboratory Medicine at Beaumont Hospital. The Contracting Authority envisions that the solution ultimately procured will comprise a combined automated tracked solution for the pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical aspects of a Blood Sciences Laboratory Service. At a minimum, it is anticipated that this will include Chemistry (including ISEs), Immunoassay platform(s), Haematology, Coagulation and, if feasible, Immunology.The installed solution must be capable of handling the Contracting Authority’s current workload plus expected growth of 8-10% per annum. The solution must be future-proofed to handle additional workload projections, including those imposed by any service expansion arising in the likely event of Beaumont Hospital being designated as a Hub Laboratory, or any other changes brought about under the national laboratory modernisation programme.
