Locomotive Air Intake Filters

Tender description

There are 2 elements of this tender process. 1. Carbody Filter Panels (EMD 8380459) – IÉ Drg. No. 11762-001 2. Intake for Engine Oil Bath Filters (EMD 8356190) – IÉ Drg. No. 11743-001 Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) are looking to replace both air intake filter arrangements on its fleet of 071 Locomotives. The current air intake arrangement can be found in the attached “Central_Air_System_Section_4_Service_Manual.pdf”, specifically items 1 and 3 from Figure 4.1. IÉ have prototyped a potential solution, details of which can be found in the attached drawings, which has proved to be successful. IÉ are now proposing to implement a full fleet exchange programme across the fleet. IÉ are seeking companies with specialist experience in the supply of specialist filter systems to the rail industry to supply the required filters and to provide an annual exchange of filter media over a period of 4 years at prescribed intervals. IÉ are also open to innovative solutions being put forward as alternative means of achieving the desired results should any potential supplier have a cost effective alternative that matches or exceeds the performance of the designs contained within the attached drawings. To participate in the tender process, companies are required to complete the pre-qualification questionnaire.
