Tender description

This contract is for the provision of an advocacy service to adults who use health and social care services in the areas covered by Devon County Council and Torbay Council. This adults' advocacy contract (Lot 1) is accompanied by a contract for the provision of advocacy for children and young people (Lot 2). We are seeking to commission a Service Provider or collaboration of Service Providers for each Lot who will work in Partnership with the Commissioners and others to work towards achieving our ambitions. The Service Provider who holds this new single Lot Contract will supply the following types of advocacy: — social care advocacy provided under the Care Act 2014, — Capacity permitting, non-statutory social care advocacy, — NHS Complaints Advocacy, — IMCA Statutory Advocacy, — DOLS Paid Representative, — Litigation Friend, — IMHA statutory advocacy service. The purpose of this Service is to fulfil and exceed the statutory obligations of Devon County Council. Children and Young People have a statutory entitlement to independent advocacy in the following circumstances: — Children in Need and Children Looked After when decisions are made about their lives, — Children in Need, Children Looked After and Care Leavers, — Children wishing to make a formal complaint, — Children and Young People who are accomodated in the Atkinson Secure Children's Home.
