Tender description

The supply of STASS, associated spares and ad-hoc PDS. The Air Commodities Team, acting on behalf of the Secretary of State for Defence has awarded a 2 year contract with Submersible Systems Inc. (SSI) of Huntington Beach, California to enable the procurement of Short Term Air Supply Systems (STASS), associated spares and ad-hoc PDS. The STASS unit known as “HEED 3” is integrated into UK Air Crew life preservers. In the event of aircraft emergency landing into water, the HEED 3 can provide oxygen for approximately 30 breaths, thus increasing the chance of escape to the surface.
